Metaverse: FC Barcelona and Real Madrid sign Web3 brands

Two of the biggest football clubs are now officially entering the Metaverse.

The two Spanish football clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona are working together on crypto transactions and Web 3 Metaverse products. On 5 August 2022, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona submitted a Trademark registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Which products does the registration cover?

Licensed USPTO attorney Mike Kondoudis tweeted on Aug.11 that the trademark application covers virtual reality and cryptography software, downloadable software for using electronic wallets, and software for managing crypto transactions using blockchain technology, among other things. In addition, according to the registration, gaming products for the Metaverse could soon be launched on the market.
